Chapter 01
The 35 minute drive that ends the cigar shop search.
Most regulars tell us the drive is part of the routine.
If you live in Atlanta and you have been hunting for a real premium cigar shop, the answer is a short drive up I-985. Tobacco Shack sits in Buford, just inside Gwinnett County, on Nelson Brogdon Boulevard near the Mall of Georgia. From Buckhead the drive is about 32 minutes off-peak, from Midtown 38 minutes, from Decatur 41 minutes, from Sandy Springs 29 minutes. The route runs straight up GA-400 to I-285 to I-985, or up I-85 to I-985 depending on where you start.
What you get for the drive: a cedar-lined walk-in humidor kept at a steady 70/70 year-round, premium inventory you can pull off the shelf with your own hands instead of pointing through glass, free parking directly in front of the shop, and a counter that knows the room. No membership, no cover, no minimum spend. We sell singles, so you can try a Padron 1964, a Davidoff Aniversario, or a Fuente OpusX without committing to a box.
The trade is honest. You spend 35 minutes of windshield time and you get back a humidor twice the size of most in-town shops, deeper boutique inventory, and the kind of unrushed browse you cannot do at the gas station cigar wall or the cordoned-off section of a tobacco-and-vape shop. Most of our Atlanta regulars come up on Saturday mornings or weekday afternoons, walk the room, pick out a few, and head back.
