Padron

Padron is a family-owned Nicaraguan cigar maker founded by Jose Orlando Padron in 1964. The brand is known for three core lines: the everyday Padron Series, the 1964 Anniversary Series, and the top-shelf 1926 Serie. We stock all three at Tobacco Shack, with the 2000 Robusto under twelve dollars and the 1964 Anniversary the brand sweet spot at fifteen to twenty.

How it smokes

Cocoa, coffee, cedar, and a soft pepper at the back. Natural wrappers run medium-bodied with bright woody notes. Maduro wrappers add chocolate, espresso, and a sweet leathery finish. Every Padron is built around long-aged Nicaraguan filler.

Dominican Republic and Honduras · Est. 1968

Davidoff

Davidoff is a premium cigar maker based in the Dominican Republic with additional production in Honduras and Nicaragua. The brand emphasizes refinement, balance, and consistency. Signature and Grand Cru lines are the everyday Davidoff. Aniversario is the upper-shelf classic. The Davidoff Nicaragua line is the brand's more recent move into a fuller-bodied Nicaraguan profile.

How it smokes

Dominican Davidoff is mild-to-medium, with cream, hay, almond, and a clean cedar finish. The Aniversario series adds dried fruit and floral notes. The Davidoff Nicaragua line jumps to medium-full body with pepper, espresso, and dark wood.

Santiago, Dominican Republic · Est. 1912

Arturo Fuente

Arturo Fuente is a fourth-generation Dominican cigar family founded by Arturo Fuente Sr. in 1912. The brand makes the Hemingway, Don Carlos, Gran Reserva, and the legendary OpusX lines. Hemingway and Don Carlos are our most reached-for Fuente cigars. OpusX is allocated and rare, but we get a few each year.

How it smokes

Cameroon-wrapped Hemingways drink mild-to-medium with toasted bread, almond, and a soft sweetness. Don Carlos sits medium-bodied with leather, cedar, and a long warm finish. OpusX is full-bodied, intense, with concentrated cocoa, pepper, and dark fruit.

Oliva

Oliva is a Nicaraguan family-owned cigar maker known for award-winning blends at accessible prices. The Serie V Melanio Robusto was named Cigar Aficionado's #1 cigar of 2014. The Serie O is the value workhorse. The Connecticut Reserve is the mild option. All three sit on our shelf year-round.

How it smokes

Serie O drinks medium with earth, leather, and soft pepper. Serie V steps up to medium-full with espresso, cedar, and a peppery finish. Serie V Melanio is the showpiece: full-bodied, refined, with dark fruit, cocoa, and a long sweet finish. Connecticut Reserve is mild with cream and almond.

Perdomo

Perdomo is a family-owned Nicaraguan cigar maker founded by Nick Perdomo Jr. in 1992. The brand emphasizes long-aged tobacco and runs three flagship lines: Perdomo 10th Anniversary, 20th Anniversary, and Lot 23. The Champagne Connecticut is the brand's mild-bodied entry point. All four sit on our shelf.

How it smokes

Champagne Connecticut runs mild with cream, almond, and silk. 10th Anniversary Connecticut is mild-medium with cedar and toasted bread. 10th Anniversary Sun Grown steps to medium-full with leather and pepper. 10th Anniversary Maduro and 20th Anniversary Maduro deliver chocolate, espresso, and a long sweet finish.

Honduras and Nicaragua · Est. 1995

Rocky Patel

Rocky Patel is a cigar maker founded by Rakesh Patel in 1995, with production in Honduras and Nicaragua. The brand is known for aged-tobacco blends and accessible pricing. The Vintage 1990 and Vintage 1992 lines and the Decade are our most-stocked Rocky Patel cigars. Multiple Rocky Patel blends have hit the Cigar Aficionado top ten over the past two decades.

How it smokes

Vintage 1990 runs full-bodied with espresso, cocoa, and a thick creamy finish. Vintage 1992 is closer in body, slightly drier on the palate, with cedar and dark fruit. Decade is medium-full with leather, pepper, and a long warm finish. Edge Maduro is intense and chocolatey.

Honduras and Nicaragua · Est. 1997

Gran Habano

Gran Habano is a family-owned cigar maker with operations in Honduras and Nicaragua. The Rico family farms its own tobacco, which is how a cigar with aged Corojo 2002 wrapper retails for under twelve dollars at our counter. Connecticut No. 5, Habano No. 3, Corojo No. 5, and Vintage 2002 are the four flagship blends.

How it smokes

Connecticut No. 5 runs mild with cream, almond, and a touch of cedar. Habano No. 3 is medium with pepper, leather, and a warm finish. Corojo No. 5 jumps to medium-full with spice and dried fruit. Vintage 2002 is full-bodied, aged, with earth and pepper that only long aging produces.

La Aroma de Cuba

La Aroma de Cuba is a brand revived in 1989 and now blended by Jose Pepin Garcia and his family at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua. The brand is known for sweet, dark, Maduro-forward blends. Mi Amor is the most popular line at our counter and the best value. Edicion Especial and Reserva are upper-shelf siblings.

How it smokes

Mi Amor leads with cocoa, raisin, and dark espresso from a San Andres Maduro wrapper. Edicion Especial adds cedar and dried fruit. Reserva is the most refined of the three, with chocolate, leather, and a long warm sweet finish.

My Father

My Father Cigars is the flagship brand of Jose Pepin Garcia and his family, based in Estelí, Nicaragua. The brand has produced multiple Cigar of the Year winners, including Flor de Las Antillas in 2012 and Le Bijou 1922 in 2015. Full-bodied, refined, and considered one of the most respected operations in Nicaragua. Premium pricing, premium product.

How it smokes

Le Bijou 1922 is full-bodied with espresso, cocoa, leather, and a thick peppery finish. La Promesa runs medium-full with cedar and dark fruit. Flor de Las Antillas balances medium body with cream, pepper, and a long sweet wrapper note. Across the catalog, the construction is exceptional.

Tatuaje

Tatuaje is the Nicaraguan cigar brand founded by Pete Johnson in 2003, blended in partnership with Jose Pepin Garcia and produced at the Garcia family factory in Estelí. The Brown Label, Black Label, and Havana VI are the core lines on our shelf. Bold Habano wrappers, full body, refined construction.

How it smokes

Brown Label runs full-bodied with pepper, cedar, leather, and a long warm finish. Black Label dials up the strength with espresso, dark spice, and a thick peppery exhale. Havana VI is the milder face of the catalog, medium with bright cedar and a soft sweet finish.
