History
La Aroma de Cuba originated in Cuba in 1875 and was a respected pre-revolution brand. The name was revived in the United States in 1989 and is currently owned by Ashton Distributors. Since 2010 the blends have been produced at the Garcia family factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, by Jose Pepin Garcia and his children, the same family behind My Father Cigars and Tatuaje.
The Garcia partnership transformed the brand. Pre-2010 La Aroma de Cuba was a competent Dominican cigar. Post-2010, with the Garcias rolling, the blends became some of the best sweet Maduros at any price point.
